Mission Statement
Downtown Campus makes a difference together through excellence in teaching and learning, enhanced student services, strong and productive community relationships, and a collaborative learning community.
Campus Goals
Develop and maintain a quality academic program that responds to the workforce needs of the community and includes the following components:
- Adult General Education, Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED), Adult High School (AHS), English as a Second Language (ESOL) and Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI)
- College Preparatory, including ESL
- College Credit — Associate degrees including A.A., A.S., A.A.S. and Technical Certificate (TC)
- Workforce Credit
- Continuing Workforce Education and Enrichment (including certification, skills-upgrade, and licensure)
Recruit, educate and retain a student body to promote individual achievement and success and to develop a strong regional economy.
Recruit, support, nurture, respect, reward, and retain a team of teaching and learning faculty in all program areas that is committed to the mission of the Downtown Campus.
Recruit, support, nurture, respect, reward, and retain a team of career staff that is committed to the mission of the Downtown Campus.
Recruit, support, nurture, respect, reward, and retain a team of administrators that is committed to the mission of the Downtown Campus.
Provide a safe, productive, positive, and caring educational environment for students, faculty, administrators, staff and the community.
Partner with Duval County Schools, area colleges and universities, businesses and community organizations to foster student success as well as community and economic development through meaningful and productive workforce development relationships.
Obtain and manage sufficient and continuing resources to achieve the goals, fund the activities, and realize the mission of FCCJ and the Downtown Campus.
