Departments/Programs: Division of Liberal Arts
The communication courses are intended to enable students to achieve the
basic competencies, as defined by the state of Florida, necessary
for speaking, listening, reading and writing in an organized and critical
manner at the college level.
The ability to communicate at the level of a college educated person is
a basic requirement for degree-seeking students. These courses are designed
to help students improve skills measured by the Florida College Level Academic
Skills Test (CLAST). Standardized entry assessment tests are used to determine
course placement.
Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.)
The associate in arts degree is the most common community
college degree program. It is a general education degree program
for students who intend
to transfer to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Earning
a Florida Community College A.A. degree guarantees your admission
to a state university in Florida. Florida Community College
also has educational alliances with several other institutions that fully
accept
the College’s
degree and credits and will admit our graduates at junior-level
standing.
