Departments/Programs: Division of Liberal Arts
Mathematics courses offered are designed to meet the needs of students
who are planning to extend their knowledge in mathematics and science as
well as those who are planning to seek advanced education in the humanities,
social environment or business.
The ability to compute at the level of a college educated person is a
basic requirement for degree-seeking students. These courses are intended
to enable students to achieve the skills measured by the Florida College
Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST). Standardized entry assessment tests
are used to determine course placement when students enroll at Florida Community College.
Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.)
The associate in arts degree is the most common community college degree
program. It is a general education degree program for students who intend
to transfer to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree. Earning
a Florida Community College A.A. degree guarantees your admission to a
state university in Florida. Florida Community College also has educational
alliances with several other institutions that fully accept the College’s
degree and credits and will admit our graduates at junior-level standing.
