Dual Enrollment at Florida Community College

The dual enrollment program at Florida Community College provides eligible high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to earn high school and college credits at the same time and at considerable cost savings. You may take specific college or non-credit vocational courses that will apply toward both high school and college credits at the same time. The courses will transfer toward most university’s freshman and sophomore requirements. If you take vocational courses you will be well on your way to preparing for the workforce.

Who may participate in the program?

Juniors and seniors enrolled in Duval County and Nassau County public schools and some private and home schooled students may enroll in this program. You may enroll in the dual enrollment program if you are a high school junior or senior, have a certain GPA (see your guidance counselor for GPA info), earn the required score on the College Board SAT, ACT or Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (CPT or FCELPT), and have the permission of your parent(s) or guardian(s), high school guidance counselor and/or high school principal.

How do I enroll in the program?

Call your high school guidance counselor today and get your application for Florida Community College’s dual enrollment program. You could earn up to 30 college credits or get ahead with vocational training for a great job. Best of all, the tuition is free for most students! If you are home schooled or your high school does not participate in the dual enrollment program, contact the dual enrollment coordinator at the campus nearest you.

Where is the assessment administered?

The SAT and ACT are administered at many high schools throughout the area. Students may sign up through any high school. The CPT/FCELPT is administered by Florida Community College. It is administered at many area high schools once per year as well as the Downtown, Kent, North and South campus assessment and certification centers. In order to take the FCELPT assessment at any Florida Community College campus, you will need to come 3.5 hours before closing and bring a referral letter from your high school.

Improving your scores on the assessment
