The Study Behavior Inventory (SBI)
is a 46 item diagnostic and prescriptive survey — the result
of more than ten years of research, development and refinement.
It is offered at no charge to assist students in their academic
success at Florida Community College Kent
Campus. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete.
What is assessed by the Study Behavior
Inventory?You will receive scores on three generic
factors that are key to academic success:
Short-term Study
Behaviors:
Preparing for day-to-day routine tasks such as reviewing class
notes and completing assigned readings.
Long-term Study
Behaviors:
Carrying out specific long-range academic tasks such as completing
projects, writing papers or preparing for final exams.
Academic Confidence:
Reporting affective factors that influence perception of self
and confidence in the academic environment.
What else is assessed by the SBI?
The SBI also provides you with information on eight specific areas
relating to academic success.
Time Management
Study Reading
General Study Habits
Listening-Notetaking
Writing
Test Anxiety
Test-Taking
Faculty Relations
And based upon your personal profile on
these eight behaviors, attitudes and skills, you will receive a
report
referring you to the appropriate Florida Community College Kent
Campus support services and over 50 Learning Café workshops.
