My internship experience has been a valuable experience for me. My work with contracting professionals provided me the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical application. I had always been interested in contracting, and my internship experience enabled me to learn more about the "Life Cycle of a Contract" with the Contracting Division of the United States Corps of Engineers. Working with the Contract Specialist in the division, I became familiar with how a contract is received, processed and forwarded for completion. In addition, I have attended several outstanding workshops: one in particular was the session called, "From Here to Where," a specific training which provided information on "What Direction Are You Going." This training enabled me to analyze my inner "self" and provided me the tools toward developing a plan for both myself and for my career.

My internship supervisor with the Contracting Division was exceptional. I reported first to a primary supervisor and then to a secondary supervisor in his absence. They both were very knowledgeable and made sure that what I was learning was beneficial and accurate. They always exhibited interest when I presented them the status of my progress. Their sincere interest made me feel that I was a part of the division and that what I was accomplishing was significant for the entire Contracting Division. Overall, I have benefited greatly from my internship experience and am happy that I had made the decision to participate in the program.
