Small Business (Entrepreneurship) Technical Certificate

Starting a new business is a big investment. It’s an investment of your time, your efforts and your money, too. So with this invested, you don’t want to skimp on preparation. Having a solid business plan and critical business knowledge is key to creating a profitable business. But earning a business degree may be more than you need, and a crash-course in the business planning just won’t suffice. What you need is the Small Business Specialist program for entrepreneurs.

Florida Community College’s Small Business program gives you business skills and knowledge in four critical area; Introduction to Business, Advertising, Applied Accounting, and Small Business Management. All of the course content is applied, which means you’ll focus on learning skills, not theory, that directly apply to your business. And we won’t try to turn you into an advertising pro or a full-fledged accountant- just a well-rounded business person with the basic skills needed to guide your company toward success.

Best of all, our program can be completed in just five months, and classes meeting in the evening.

In addition to the applied course content, our courses combine classroom instruction, online instruction and individual projects. So sometimes you will be learning from home or office on your computer, and sometimes you will be interacting with your instructor and other entrepreneurs in the class. You’ll also be working on individual projects – which, the sum of the parts will comprise your own comprehensive business plan. The end result is that you leave the program with a business plan you can take to the bank to apply for a loan.
