The Regular 40-Hour Work Week Has Resumed

This is a friendly reminder that the College’s regular 40-hour work week has resumed. If you haven’t already done so, please submit an updated work schedule to Human Resources as soon as possible. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all employees update their work schedules accordingly. Have a great fall semester!

New Onboarding Process for Employees

The College’s onboarding process for new employees has been revised and improved for 2010 to include three phases. This improved three-phase process effectively assimilates and familiarizes new employees with the College, while breaking it into informative and manageable sections. Each phase covers different topic areas that serve as building blocks to ensure every new employee feels welcomed, valued, and prepared.

Award Winner!

For the second year, Florida State College at Jacksonville was recognized by Mayor John Peyton as one of Jacksonville’s Healthiest 100 Silver Level Worksite Wellness Award winners. The Award recognizes the College’s demonstrated commitment to employees’ health by implementing comprehensive worksite health promotion strategies and identifies the College as a leader in this field within the community.

MyPyramid.gov – Steps to a Healthier You

One size doesn't fit all. MyPyramid offers personalized eating plans and interactive tools to help you plan/assess your food choices based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Log into MyBlue Service through the BlueCross BlueShield of Florida Web site to access tips and tools for living healthy. Obtain personal support for your health needs to include access to a nurse 24 hours per day, wellness programs, diet, tracking tools, etc.

Corporate Runs

Congratulations to the Florida State College at Jacksonville Waves Employee (and some by association) Running Team who represented the College proudly at the Corporate 5k run held at Metropolitan Park Thursday, April 22! The team finished 30th out of 136 teams. Way to go!

The American Heart Association’s 2010 First Coast Start! Heart Walk is scheduled for September 25, 2010.
