Updated Family Medical Leave Regulations
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993 provides an entitlement of up to 12 weeks of job-protected, unpaid leave during any 12-month period to eligible, covered employees. Effective January 16, 2009 the Family and Medical Leave Act updated its regulations and included two new important military leave entitlements for eligible specified family members.
In preparation for the changes to the IRS regulations regarding 403(b) retirement accounts effective January 1, 2009, the College evaluated its 403(b) voluntary retirement savings program with respect to providers, product offerings, educational services and IRS compliance. After completing the Intent to Negotiate process with the other 27 Florida community colleges, the College narrowed the list of authorized providers to those listed below.
*Employees sending contributions to Life Insurance Company of the Southwest (LSW) may continue their contributions to this organization. No new contracts may be established.
The changes to the IRS regulations significantly increase the administrative and reporting responsibilities of the College. These requirements include making the College responsible for the review and approval process of any transaction made to any account that is a part of the sponsored 403(b) plan. To help with the compliance and administration changes of the IRS regulations, the College has contracted with TSA Consulting Group, Inc. (TSACG) to administer the approval process of transactions such as Distributions, Enrollment, Exchanges, Transfers, 403(b) Loans, and Rollovers, and to provide plan oversight and auditing.
To process all transactions, your requests should be forwarded directly to TSACG using the Transaction Routing Request Form (PDF). The fax number and e-mail address for TSACG are available on the form.
Upon reviewing submitted paperwork to ensure that the transaction complies with IRS regulations, TSACG will forward approved paperwork to your authorized provider who will complete the transaction by disbursing funds directly to you or directly to an account specified by you.
