The Southeastern Center for Cooperative Learning (SCCL) is a faculty led professional development center at Florida Community College at Jacksonville that provides opportunities for college faculty to receive training, information, and support for creating and managing interactive teaching and learning in their classes. The SCCL’s theoretical and practical foundations were researched and developed by Roger and David Johnson of the Center for Cooperative Learning Center at the University of Minnesota. Our Cooperative Learning Seminars are sanctioned by their Center for Cooperative Learning.

The SCCL offers two 32 hour seminars a year to train faculty in the Foundations of Cooperative Learning and in Advanced Cooperative Learning. Our seminars are open to faculty from all colleges. The SCCL also offers a number of workshops each semester.

Dates to Remember Hybrid Cooperative Learning Foundations Foundations of Cooperative Learning is a hybrid this year and will meet F2F,  May 12 and May 13, 2009, 8:00-4:00 There will be prior assignments to complete before the F2F meeting and one assignment to complete after the meeting. It will meet at Downtown Campus in the ATC.  Final Registration date is May 1, 2009. Hybrid Advanced Cooperative Learning Advanced Cooperative Learning will be a hybrid class this year.   It will meet F2F, May 12 and May 13, 2009, 8:00-4:00.  There will be prior assignments to complete before the F2F meeting and one assignment to complete after the meeting.  It will meet at Downtown Campus  in the ATC.
