Dr. Milt Russos
Executive Director
Cultural Programs
Dr. Milt Russos is the executive director of
cultural programs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history
and a master’s degree in education from the University
of Florida. He also holds a doctorate in educational administration
from Nova University. As executive director of cultural programs,
Dr. Russos oversees the College’s cultural and co-curricular
programs.
Dr. Russos is a charter staff member of the Florida State
College and has been integrally involved in the formation and
growth
of the institution. At the College, he has been a faculty member,
student activities advisor, assistant director of student activities,
director of student activities, coordinating director of student
activities, district director of student activities and dean
of community and co-curricular activities. Concurrently, he has
directed the College’s Artist Series since its inception.
Now in its 38th season, the series is Jacksonville’s major
presenter of professional, national and international touring
attractions.
Utilizing the College’s Wilson Center for the Arts, as
well as the City of Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center for
the Performing Arts, the series attracts one of the largest audiences
in the Southeast. Under the “Broadway in Jacksonville” brand,
the series is best known for its top quality productions including
such shows as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the
Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Disney’s Beauty and
the Beast and Riverdance.
Within the last several years, Dr. Russos has been working on
the development of the College’s learning communities,
service learning and student ambassador programs.
