It is not far away, but its a long way from
home. Tucked quietly into the forest of rural, northeast Florida is an educational
center so removed from tradition, you might forget that youre actually learning.
FCCJs Nassau Outdoor Education Center is located just 20 miles north of
downtown Jacksonville but light-years away from the stress of the urban environment.
Under a full canopy of native flora, the Center offers seven educational programs:
the low ropes course, the climbing wall, team building, corporate and organizational
training, wilderness training/adventures, environmental education and college
credit outdoor adventure courses. All of our programs are custom designed for
the purpose of building solid cohesive teams. When you arrive, you'll
immediately realize that even though you havent driven far, youre
a long way from the noise, pressures, pace and stress of the city. We recommend
that you fill your lungs with fresh air, fill your ears with the sounds of nature
and open your mind to a new learning environment for group development and personal
growth.
From Jacksonville, Take I-95 North, about nine miles past the airport, to the
A1A/Yulee/Fernandina Beach (exit 373). Turn east (right) onto A1A and drive .6
miles to the Nassau Center sign on the right side of A1A. Turn right onto William
Burgess Blvd. Travel 1.5 miles to the second FCCJ entrance, the Outdoor Education
Center.
