
Learning Center - Computer Lab
The South Campus Open Computer Lab offers students a wide variety of facilities and programs. Four laser printers and two color scanners connect to 65 high speed computer terminals. Faculty also utilize two additional computer/lab classroom with 25 terminals for English, math, science and computer science courses. Nineteen MAC work stations connect to a color scanner, a laser printer, and a color printer for advanced multimedia courses.
Computer programs range from basic Microsoft Office
word processing, to computer science programs, to advanced macromedia
visual arts applications. Other programs include on-campus and online
college course study assistance in English, math, science, accounting,
art, and humanities.
Internet access connects to the Florida state
library databases for research.
A free FCCJ e-mail account allows access to these databases and
the Internet from off campus also.
Approximately 15 computer tutors-mostly
computer science majors and interns-assist with beginning word processing
to advanced computer programming, with an additional 50 other specialized
lab computers.
