Learning Center - Math Lab
The Math Lab offers many services to Florida State College at Jacksonville students.
Tutoring assistance is available for all Math courses taught at the college. Handouts
are available on a variety of topics and many textbooks
and solutions manuals are available to use for study in the Learning Center.
SOS
(Student One-on-One Support): students work with tutors to improve
math skills in specific courses.
CLAST
(College Level Academic Skills Test): practice tests and individualized
tutoring and assistance are available to help students to prepare
for the CLAST exam.
Workshops: Workshops in using Calculators, preparing for exit exams and other math topics are offered each semester.

Tutoring and special assignments for MAT0024 (Elementary Algebra) are available in the Math Lab with help provided by faculty members who teach this course and Learning Center staff.
When you come to the Math Lab for help, you should bring questions,
your textbook, your class syllabus and notes. There are many different ways
to do math problems and these materials help the tutor explain the problem
the way your teacher wants you to understand it.
In the Math Lab, We have red and green cups on the tables.
If the cup on your table is green, the tutor knows that you are
fine and don't need any help. If the cup is red, the tutor will
come to assist you.
Although tutors are not permitted to help
with tests, quizzes, or bonus work, you may be given assistance with a similar
problem from a text book to help you learn the concepts.
