Coach’s Comment: Sam is a team leader on the field and in the classroom. She brings a great deal of intensity to the field where she plays second base or the outfield. She has good hands and a good arm that allow her to play solid defense in several spots. Sam has the ability to hit the ball very hard with good doubles power and occasional home run power as well as being a good bunter. If she gains offensive consistency she’ll see a great deal of playing time.

Sydney Buser

Sydney Buser photo

Personal Quote: “Play like you want to win, not like you are afraid to lose.”
Coach’s Comment: Sydney is an intense, quiet competitor on the field where she plays third base. She has good hands and a strong, accurate arm as well as good ball sense. She is not afraid to get dirty to make a play. She is working on her feet in order to increase her range. Offensively, she is a good contact hitter who won’t strike out much. While mostly being a role player this year she will definitely find spots to contribute to what looks to be a fine season.

Kat Cameron

Personal Quote: “I can’t make everyone like me, but if I wasn’t me, I would like me.”
Coach’s Comment: Kat is a hard working, intense player who gets better every day. She’ll see some time behind the plate where she played in high school but is working hard in the outfield to take better advantage of her speed. She is bright on and off the field and that adds to what she brings to the team. She hits from the left side and in the fall had her best games against top competition. While expected to be a role player this year she will figure in the team’s success.

Kassie Crews

Kassie Crews photo
Year: Sophomore Position: OF

Personal Quote: “People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget the way you make them feel.”
Coach’s Comment: Kassie returns to FCCJ in what should hopefully be a much healthier season. An early shoulder problem limiter her to mostly pinch running duties last year. Good speed and instincts maker her a real asset on the bases. Her recovery from off season shoulder repair seems complete and her arm looks strong again. She is an aggressive outfielder who is not afraid to get dirty. She has the ability to hit the ball hard and will be a major challenger in left field.

Kala Crosby

Kala Crosby photo

Coach’s Comment: Kala has been a very pleasant surprise to the team throughout the fall season. She played errorless ball at second and quickly picked up the outfield where she’ll challenge for a starting spot. She had many clutch hits throughout the fall and she combines good speed and power. Kala is a great team player and is a breath of fresh air on the field. She helps keep the team loose.

Amanda deLancellotti

Amanda deLancellotti photo

Personal Quotes: “If you’re not cheatin, you’re not tryin.”
“If you don’t have anything nice to say … come sit by me.”
“It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission.”
Coach’s Comment: Amanda is a sophomore who played first, left field and DP’ed her freshman year. She is an aggressive player with a great deal of power. She hit six home runs and was second on the team in RBIs last year, and was named all-tournament in the Miami Dade and FCCJ tournaments. Amanda is expected to be a team leader this year and should be a big part of the team’s success.

Kasey Fagan

Kasey Fagan photo
Year: Sophomore Position: 1st
High School: Keystone Heights High School Coach: Kathy Smith

Personal Quote: “Whoever said may the best man win was to scared to ask a woman to play.” - Anonymous
Coach’s Comment: Kasey is fondly known by her teammates as “Big Boom,” and it takes only one swing of the bat to know why. She is a feared power hitter who opposing teams often throw around. She led the team in home runs, RBIs, walks and hit by pitches. At first base she has great hands, saving a lot of throws with her picks and her stretches. Her laugh and sense of humor are infectious and she often lifts the team.

Becca Harrott

Becca Harrott photo
Year: Freshman Position: OF
High School: Redmond High School Coach:

Hobbies: Snowboarding and weightlifting
Personal Quote: “It’s what you do when no one is looking that makes the difference.”
Coach’s Comment: Becca is a bright, energetic, hard-working player who could contribute to the team with her power if she can stay healthy. An early season, freak injury last fall kept her off the field, then she re-injured it early in the spring having to have major reconstructive surgery. Her hard work in the summer and through the fall should have her ready to take the field this spring. Her attitude, intensity and work ethic have been an inspiration to her teammates and coaches.

Lotte Holvast

Lotte Holvast photo

Favorite Food: Pizza Height: 5’5”
Favorite TV Show: Friends GPA: 3.5
Hobbies: Ping pong
Personal Quote: “Don’t dream your life, live your dream.”
Coach’s Comment: Lotte is one of the most fundamentally sound players to ever play at FCCJ. She is the fastest player on the team but has good quickness as well. Her footspeed and quickness coupled with her ability to read the ball off the bat gives her tremendous range at second or in the outfield. Offensively, she is converting everything to the left side and as she gains proficiency there she will become a real weapon with the glove and bat for the Stars. Lotte should be a big impact player for the team. Her experience in the Dutch 20U national team gives her big game maturity.

Ashley Howard

Ashley Howard photo

Personal Quote: “A true champion knows how to overcome doubts and manage those doubts, and then turn them into motivation.”
Coach’s Comment: Ashley started most games as a freshman, mostly in right field, and is expected to anchor the outfield again, mostly in right field, to take advantage of her powerful, accurate arm. On the offensive side Ashley has good gap power and will hit a few home runs as well. She was a good RBI person last year and should be one of the state’s top outfielders this season.

Ashlyn Kimberly

Hobbies: Reading, drawing, learning new things
Personal Quote: “In heaven all the interesting people are missing.” - Frederick Nietzsche
Coach’s Comment: Ashlyn comes off an excellent freshman season where she was one of the top pitchers in the state. She is a power pitcher who only got better as the season went on. Her best performance of the year was at the state tournament where an injury and weather issues forced her to pitch three games in the loser’s bracket on Saturday and she won all three in dominating fashion. This fall she shut down several D1 teams and will set the tone for the Stars. She will be a big key in the team’s success.

Brigette Kirschmer

Brigette Kirschmer photo

Personal Quote: “Keep your head high because once it drops you’re done.”
Coach’s Comment: Brigette came to FCCJ as a walk-on but quickly earned a scholarship with her effort and quality of play. She has excellent footspeed, a strong arm, and the ability to hit the ball very hard with good power. She is turning into a very good outfielder where she should challenge for playing time. Her upbeat attitude will make her a real asset to this year’s team.

Bree MacIntyre

Bree MacIntyre photo
Year: Sophomore Position: LF, P, 3rd
High School: Rocky Mountain High School Coach: Mike Crockett

Favorite TV Show: Gossip Girl GPA: 2.5
Hero/Person Most Admired: My Mom
Hobbies: Playing with my dog, guitar hero, hanging out
Personal Quote: “The moment of victory is much to short to live for that and nothing else.”
Coach’s Comment: Bree is a sophomore who contributed in different ways as a freshman on the mound, as a hitter and in different roles, but has worked extremely hard this fall and looks to be an impact player this year. She’ll see time as a pitcher where she throws hard and hits her spots well, and could see time at either corner or in the outfield. She could be a DP or a powerful threat as a pinch hitter.

Jana Owen

Jana Owen photo
Year: Sophomore Position: P
High School: Pedro Menendez High School Coach: Stan Jones,
Mike Jefferson
Club Team: Orange Park Tiger Sharks Coach: Gary and Cindy Burns
Hometown: St. Augustine, Fla. Throws: Right

Hero/Person Most Admired: Joanna Papas, my family
Hobbies: Softball, the beach, volleyball and ping pong
Personal Quote: “When a task is once begun, do not leave it until it’s done. Be the task great or small, do it well or not at all.” - Carolyn Peck
Coach’s Comment: Jana is a pleasure to coach as she always brings 100 percent. Her work ethic sets her apart from many competitors. When Jana is on her game she is dominating and is a strikeout pitcher. Her best outings as a freshman were one-hitting, national qualifier Louisburg in a 15-1 rout, and no-hitting, perennial power Indian River in a 2-0 victory. If Jana gains the consistency that should come with maturity, she could have a big season and be a major contributor to the team’s success.

Lindsey Palulis

Lindsey Palulis photo

Hero/Person Most Admired: My sisters
Hobbies: Softball, weight lifting, watching movies
Personal Quote: “If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, you haven’t done much today.”
Coach’s Comment: Lindsey is a work horse type of player who looks to see a lot of time behind the plate this year. She could also see some time at third where she excelled in high school. Lindsey hit the ball very well all fall, driving it to both fields with good line drive gap power. Her work ethic is outstanding as already she has developed into a great blocking catcher. Her upbeat attitude and positive demeanor have also helped make her a key part of the team.

Amber Pederson

Amber Pederson photo

Coach’s Comment: Despite being a freshman, Amber is going to be a big part of the team’s success. She is the total package, combining outstanding academics with an excellent glove and outstanding speed and power. Her versatility allows her to move around on defense but she looks to see most of the time at third base, possibly in the outfield and providing relief at short. Amber will probably hit in the one or two spot this year.

Ashlee Revell

Hero/Person Most Admired: Tatiana George (FSU Player) GPA: 3.3
Hobbies: Ping Pong
Personal Quote: “Softball rules!”
Coach’s Comment: Ashlee returns to the Stars as the starting second baseman and half of what could be the best middle infield in the state. “A-Rev” has soft hands-on defense and has a great head for the game. She was a clutch hitter last season while hitting six home runs This fall she continued her success and was a team leader. She should bat in the three spot and be a big part of many victories.

Hobbies: Sleeping, eating, dancing
Personal Quote: “Make love not war.” “Live, laugh, love.”
Coach’s Comment: Kate is a free spirit and a tremendously talented athlete. Her 6’1” frame makes her intimidating on the mound, in the batter’s box and in center field where she covers a lot of ground with a powerful arm. At bat, she drives the ball hard to the gaps and has good home run power as well. She was the team’s best clutch hitter in the fall. In addition to having great power, she is also one of the fastest players on the team. In the circle, she is a hard-throwing power pitcher and will be a big key in this year’s success.

Meike Witteveen

Hero/Person Most Admired: Koringin Beatrix
Hobbies: Snowboarding
Personal Quote: “It is not how good you are, it’s how bad you want it.”
Coach’s Comment: Meike is a special player who can be one of the best student-athletes to ever play at FCCJ. She returns as half of an outstanding middle infield and appears to be even a step quicker and a bit stronger this season. Defensively, she makes both the routine plays and the outstanding sports center plays. Her offense has really stepped up this fall as she added more power and bat control to her game, as well as her outstanding base running. Her experience on the Junior Dutch National Team has added even more polish to her game. She is the team leader.
