Women’s Tennis

Welcome to the 2007-08 edition of the FCCJ Stars Tennis program. Last year was pretty successful, in spite of a couple of injuries to key positions. It showed how the girls picked up the slack and gave it all they could to overcome our problems. We were really proud of how they worked. The Stars finished the season with a record of 16 wins and 13 losses, and finishing 11th in the nation. Of course we’re always shooting for a better finish and this year’s recruiting class looks to have some additions that we need.

We have three excellent returning players who will be pushed hard by the new ladies to hold last year’s position. Krista Bastien, Ashley Lowery and Gina Lindsay will be back next season and are working hard to improve. FCCJ will really miss Dillet, Evans, Melihova and Pierce. If we can stay out of trouble with injuries and such I think the ladies will have a successful year again this year and that means enjoying the season, winning as many as possible, sending sophomores up to universities, and generally enjoying our play and learning a little extra skill along the way. And a trip to Nationals is not bad either.
