Activation and Publishing Instructions
Activating Your FrontPage Web Account
- If you haven’t already done so, activate
your student computing resources account. The User ID
and password you receive when you activate your student
computing resources account will also be your Web publishing
User ID and password for FrontPage.
- Now you are ready to activate
your FrontPage account (using
your student computing resources User ID and password).
For the domain, type in student. Your Web location
will be http://www1.students.fccj.edu/yourUserID.
or, if you are using Windows XP, type in student\youruserid
and your password.
Once you have logged on, select the “submit” button to activate your account. Allow two hours for your
Web account to be created.
Publishing Your Web Page
You can only publish to this server with the Microsoft FrontPage
application. FTP and Telnet are not available on this server.
Create your Web Page.
From Home: Once you have created
your Web page and are ready for publishing, dial into your Internet
Service Provider (ISP).
Open the File
Menu and select Publish
Web. This will open the Publish Web dialog box.

In the location box type in http://www1.students.fccj.edu/YourUserID.
Click on options, set your preferences and then click the Publish
button.

An authentication dialog box will prompt you for your Name (User
ID) and Password credentials. Note, in the Name
field, precede your User ID with the string student\. Fill in
your password and click the OK
button.
You then should be able to open your browser and visit your Web
site at http://www1.students.fccj.edu/yourUserID. Remember to
keep a backup of your Web pages. All accounts and data are deleted
from this server at the end of each term. If you are experiencing
