Macintosh Dial-up Information

This document assumes that you are using a Macintosh with Open
Transport and Open Transport/PPP. Open Transport became available
with the Macintosh OS 7.5.3 and above.
- After installing Apple Open Transport and
Apple Open Tranport./PPP open the Control Panel for TCP/IP
- Change the “Connect via:"” to
“PPP.”
- Change the “Configure:” to “Using
PPP Server.”
- Change the “Name server addr.:” to
“207.203.47.18.”
- Change the “Search domains:” to
“fccj.cc.fl.us”
- Close the Control Panel and click “Save”
to keep your changes.
- Open the Control Panel for PPP and enter
your Student userid, password and the phone number (641-4267).
- Click Connect.
When you are ready to hang up:
- Open the Control Panel for PPP and select
Disconnect.
- You will be prompted to save this information.
Select “Save,” so you do not have to enter your
Profs userid, password and phone number each time you connect.
- From now on all you have to do to connect
is open the “PPP” control panel and select “connect” and then start your client software (i.e. Netscape, mail program,
TN3270, telnet, etc.). To hang up, open the “PPP” control
panel and select “Disconnect.”
