Internet Dial-up System

Windows XP

(Note: This assumes you are using the Windows XP desktop theme.)

Configuring Dial-Up Networking:

  1. Select Start, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
  2. Select the Printers and Other Hardware link.
  3. Select the Phone and Modem Options link.
  4. If asked to fill in the area code, enter your area code and click OK.
  5. Close the Phone and Modem Options window.
  6. In the Printers and Other Hardware window, select the Back button.
  7. Select the Network and Internet Connections link.
  8. Under Pick a Task… select the Setup or Change your Internet Connection link.
  9. Select the Setup button to start the New Connection Wizard.

New Connection Wizard:

  1. Select the Next button.

  2. Select Connect to the Internet and go to Next.

  3. Select Setup my connection manually and go to Next.

  4. Select Connect using a dial-up modem and go to Next.

  5. Type in a name for the ISP (example: FCCJ) and click Next.

  6. Enter the phone number: 641-4267. Go to Next.

  7. Enter your username and password. Go to Next.

  8. Check the box Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop. Go to Finish.
