The Center for Lifelong Learning in Nassau County Announces Registration
The Florida State College at Jacksonville Nassau Center is now registering students for fall classes offered through the Center for Lifelong Learning in Nassau.
Classes at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, beginning on Wednesday October 14, are: From Marrakech to Baghdad a Brief History of U.S./ Middle East Relations, taught by Dick Holmes from 1 to 3 p.m.; and Wine Appreciation, taught by Richard Lambert from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m..
Sing at First Sight II, taught by Jane Lindberg, is at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Fernandina on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon. This class will begin October 7.
Classes beginning the week of October 13, at the Betty P. Cook Nassau Center, are: Zora Neale Hurston: Genius of the South, taught by Brenda R. Simmons, Ph.D., Tuesdays 10 a.m. to noon; Energy: Yesterday, Today, and Where Can We Go From Here, taught by Joe Carlson on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.; Welcome to the Computer!, taught by Deborah Ballou on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.; “Speak to Me!” Oral Traditions Explored, taught by Diane Holt Johnson, Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; The Art of Photography: A Photographic Seminar, taught by Richard Olderman, Thursdays 1 – 3 p.m.; and a two-night Health Cooking class, taught by Chef Bill Castleberry, on Wednesday, November 4 and November 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m..
