Center for Lifelong Learning in Nassau announces a New Class on Energy
The Florida State College at Jacksonville Betty P. Cook Nassau Center is offering a fall term “Energy: Yesterday, Today, and Where Can We Go From Here?” class. The class will be taught by Joe Carlson an economist who has worked in a wide range of energy fields, including nuclear (reactor licensing), aerospace, solar and wind research, and oil. He spent 25 years with ExxonMobil managing governmental relations programs in Latin America, Russia, and the Middle East.
The non-credit, four-week class will meet on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m, from October 13 to November 3. The class will examine and discuss current energy issues ranging from coal, oil, gas, and nuclear, to ‘green’ alternatives including solar and wind. The class costs $50.
