“Wine Appreciation” Class Offered at the Golf Club of Amelia Island

Florida State College at Jacksonville Center for Lifelong Learning in Nassau is now enrolling students for a Fall “Wine Appreciation” class. This fun non-credit class is designed for individuals wishing to learn more about wine. The three-week evening class will meet Tuesdays, October 14 through October 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, 4700 Amelia Island Parkway. The class will include wine production overview, elements of taste and wine tasting principles, wine wheel and terminology, and evaluations on wines from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the America’s, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Blending, buying and storing, wine ratings and food matching, and developing personal preferences will also be covered. The class costs $125, and is taught by Chef Richard Lambert.
