Auditions for Choral Studies April 27, 28; Theatre (performance and technical) April 30
Students enrolled in Florida Community College in Fall 2009 can turn their talent into generous scholarship money. Talent grant auditions are being held this month for students with vocal talent, visual arts and for students with performance and technical theatre talent.
Auditions for choral talent grants with Director of Choral Studies R. Wayne Bailey will be held April 27 and April 28, from 2:30–5 p.m., in Bldg. N, Room 101 at South Campus. Those wishing to audition must call and schedule an appointment with Professor Bailey at 904.646.2364.
Applications for visual arts talent grants are presently in review; however, prospective students may call 904.646.2016 or e-mail Dr. Mary Joan Hinson for details on the deadline to complete a Visual Arts Talent Grant Application (PDF).
Theatre talent grant auditions and interviews will be held April 30 at 4 p.m., at South Campus, in the Wilson Center, Studio Theatre. Audition/interview requirements for performance are most recent official transcript and SAT or ACT scores; a current recommendation letter and a prepared monologue of one-to-two minutes in length. Requirements for technical theatre include most recent official transcript and SAT or ACT scores; a current recommendation letter and an informal portfolio/resume presentation. All paper documentation must accompany candidates to the audition/ interview.

Current and prospective students may audition. Auditioning does not guarantee the awarding of a grant, but enrollment at FCCJ is required for talent grant eligibility. Talent grant auditions for the fine arts are generally held in the spring for fall term admission.
