Ballroom Dancing classes to begin in January at FCCJ

Spring term ballroom dance classes will be offered at the FCCJ Deerwood Center starting in January as part of the Continuing Education personal enrichment series.

Beginning Ballroom Dancing is scheduled to meet on Mondays, January 26 through March 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. This popular class covers the basic steps, turns and variations of smooth and Latin dance styles. Students will learn the foxtrot, waltz, rumba, tango and hustle. Tuition is $89 per couple. Intermediate Ballroom Dancing will follow starting in March.

Swing and Latin Dancing will meet on Wednesdays beginning January 28 through March 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. In this introductory-level course, students learn the jive, cha cha, salsa, rumba, meringue and more. Cost is $89 per couple.

The FCCJ Deerwood Center is located at 9911 Old Baymeadows Road.

Registration is currently underway. Students may register online at www.fccj.edu, at any FCCJ Enrollment Service Office or by telephone. First-time students must complete an application and pay a one-time $15 membership fee.
