FCCJ Continuing Education online program expands to over 300 courses

FCCJ’s Continuing Education Online Program has expanded to well over 300 online courses, giving students more flexible and convenient options for learning. Growth in FCCJ’s online program is the result of a partnership with the American Management Association as well as a high-demand for training that fits into the busy lifestyles of today’s students.

Delivered entirely via the Web, FCCJ’s non-credit online courses cover a broad range of topics, including AMA Certificate programs in Business, Accounting, Management and Customer Service, computer software skills, network programming, grant writing, art history, creative writing, debt elimination and more.

Some online courses are designed as self-paced tutorials, while others are led by an instructor. Students have access to the “online classroom” 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“I really enjoyed this class and will continue taking online courses, as I am disabled and it is more comfortable,” said Martha Wilson, a student in the Creating Web Pages class.

Elizabeth Lee Steck, a student in the Introduction to Windows XP class remarked, “I found this online class to be very convenient. The instructor always answered my questions promptly, so I did not feel like I was completely on my own.”

Online classes begin January 21 and run for six to eight weeks depending on the course topic. Email, Internet access and some software programs are required for the classes. Tuition ranges from $59 to $139 per course.

Spring term registration is currently underway. For information, contact the FCCJ Continuing Education Office at 904.633.8292.
