Florida Community College reaccredited with SACS highest
evaluation
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
(SACS) Commission on Colleges in Atlanta has reaffirmed the accreditation
of Florida Community College at Jacksonville for the maximum
allowable period of ten years with no conditions or requirements.
The announcement was made Dec. 6 at the SACS annual meeting in
Atlanta. This is regarded as the best possible outcome relative
to institutional reaccreditation.
“On behalf of the college, I want to
thank and commend all of the members of our college community
who contributed to this successful and highly significant result,” said
College President Steven Wallace. “This is truly a tribute
to the quality of our college and the professionalism of our
staff.”
According to the SACS Web site, “the
accreditation of an institution by the Commission on Colleges
includes all of its branch campuses, additional off-site programs,
and distance learning programs as reported to the Commission.”
