
FCCJ provides numerous opportunities this summer for those interested in improving their physical well being through dance and fitness classes.
Belly Dancing Aerobics, a high-energy exercise routine that uses traditional belly dancing movements to shape and tone, meets on Mondays, May 10 – July 5 at FCCJ South Campus from 7 to 8 p.m. Cost is $45.
Beginning Ballroom Dancing, which covers the basics of ballroom dancing including the foxtrot, waltz, rumba and tango, meets on Mondays, May 17 – June 28, 7 to 9 p.m. at the FCCJ Deerwood Center. Tuition is $89 per couple.
Swing and Latin Dancing will meet on Wednesdays beginning May 26 – June 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the FCCJ Deerwood Center. This course features the jive, cha cha, salsa, rumba, meringue and more. Cost is $89 per couple.
Yoga and Meditation is designed to reduce stress and improve flexibility through exercise postures. Two classes are scheduled on Tuesdays, May 18 – July 6 at the FCCJ Deerwood Center; 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 6 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $45.
Tai Chi, a healing, meditative art, suitable for all ages and physical conditions, meets on Thursdays, May 20 – July 8 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. or Mondays, May 17 – July 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the FCCJ Deerwood Center. Cost is $65.
Mind & Body Pilates is a mat-based exercise approach that strengthens the back and abdomen while enhancing mind/body awareness. Class meets twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 18 – June 24 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at FCCJ South Campus. Tuition is $49.
