Florida Community College has been ranked
first in the nation for the second year in a row by for capabilities
in providing distance learning and electronic services for students
and employees. The survey was conducted by the Center Digital
Education, a national research and advisory institute providing
education, government and industry leaders with decision support,
research and educational services to help them effectively incorporate
new technologies in the 21st century.
In a letter of congratulations
from Marina Leight, Director of the Center for Digital Education,
she noted that hundreds of schools from around the country
participated in a research survey that determined which schools
had achieved an exemplary level of technology services.
Joining
Florida Community College at Jacksonville in the top 10 were
four other community colleges located in Florida: St Petersburg
College (fifth), Miami Dade College (sixth place tie), Daytona
Beach Community College and Tallahassee Community College
(seventh place tie).
In partnership with the American Association
of Community Colleges (AACC), the Center for Digital Education
will be recognizing Florida Community College, along with
the others school ranked in the top 10 on April 25 in Minneapolis

by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia

degree.
