Florida Community College ranks fifth in nation in associate’s degrees
DOE Center for Education Statistics figures reported in Community College Week

Florida Community College at Jacksonville is the fifth largest producer of associate’s degrees in the nation, according to a report published by Community College Week, a weekly publication specializing in issues related to the nation’s community colleges.

Florida Community College was in the “top ten” rankings for six additional categories. It was ranked fourth in the nation for the number of Associate in Science nursing degrees (R.N.); fourth in associate degrees earned by non-minorities; seventh in associates degrees in health professions and related clinical services; and tenth in the nation for one-year certificates (all disciplines).

The College also ranked twelfth in the nation for the number of associate degrees conferred upon Black students.

The annual list, published by Community College Week, is based on their analysis of U.S. Department of Education data for 2002-2003.
