Summer is ideal time to pursue personal enrichment courses at FCCJ
Students of all ages can enrich their personal lives and improve
their creative skills through continuing education courses offered
this summer at Florida Community College.
introduces
students to simple chord techniques for playing folk, contemporary
and country music. Topics include: basic chord fingering;
strumming; tuning and maintenance; music notation; capo applications;
and finger picking. Student must have an acoustic guitar. The
class meets on Mondays, May 16–June 27, from 7 to 9 p.m.
at FCCJ South Campus, 11901 Beach Blvd. Tuition is $49.
is
an ideal course for both wine enthusiasts and those in the
food industry. Students
learn the wine making process and how to read labels, identify
wine characteristics and select wines to complement a menu. Class
meets Wednesdays, May 25–June 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at
South Campus. Students must be 21 years old and may bring
a partner for free. Tuition is $75 plus a $15 tasting fee.

students practical tips for assembling affordable and stylish
outfits for business, social functions, casual and travel. Class
meets on Tuesdays, May 17–June 14, at South Campus from
7 to 9 p.m. Tuition is $45.
teaches
students how to design a customized landscape plan that incorporates
native plants, outdoor living spaces, walkways, hedges, flowerbeds,
water features, trees and patios. Class meets at South
Campus on Wednesdays, May 25–June 22, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuition
is $95, and a partner may attend free.

meet on Wednesdays, May 18–June 8 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Students
will learn to navigate the keyboard and mouse, create, print
and save documents, connect to the Web and send e-mail. Class
meets at FCCJ Deerwood Center, located at 9911 Old Baymeadows
Rd. Tuition is $55.
