Three from Florida Community College to be inducted into
FCCAA Hall of Fame
The Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA) will induct three nominees from Florida
Community College at Jacksonville into its 2005 Hall of Fame in November. The event is in conjunction with the
annual convention of the Florida Association of Community Colleges in Tampa.
The three include Charles Smires, Forensics coach, (Dean of Liberal Arts, South Campus);
Bettie (B.J.) Hausman, former Student Government Association adviser (Dean of Student Success, North Campus);
and Mary Andrew, Women's Volleyball coach (South Campus). Smires, Hausman and Andrew are among 14 selected

colleges.
According to its website, the Florida Community College Activities Association is a statewide
non-profit corporation regulating, coordinating, and promoting intercollegiate activities in Athletics, Brain Bowl,
Forensics, Music, Student Government, Student Publications, Theatre and Visual Arts. Nominees to the hall of fame
are those recognized for having raised the level of awareness in community college athletics and academics through
their distinguished achievement and excellence in one or more community college athletic or academic programs
sponsored by the Association; or through their contributions to community college athletics or academics in other fields of work.
