Florida Community College wins silver for Super Bowl Hospitality training

The Employer Services Division of Florida Community College's Open Campus won second place in the statewide Exemplary Business/Industry Partnership Best Practice Projects. The award, presented by the Florida Association of Community Colleges at their annual convention, was to recognize their Waves of Welcome Hospitality Specialist Training created for the Jacksonville & Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau. Project Manager Amy Dyar, Ed.D., accepted the award in Tampa last month for the College.

The training prepared more than 500 front-line hospitality workers for Super Bowl XXXIX. The Employer Services Division designed the training, produced the videos, produced all written training materials and delivered all the training using primarily Florida Community College facilities. Improvjacksonville worked with the College on the eight-month project.

Florida Community College at Jacksonville's Employer Services and Economic Development Center provides the First Coast business community with customized training, assessment and specialized business solutions. For more information about Employer Services may call 904.632.5006.
