National College Fair to be held October 14 for students and parents
Special sessions on college planning and financial aid for Spanish speakers

What: The National College Fair of Jacksonville
A local opportunity for students and their parents — English and Spanish-speaking — to meet representatives from colleges and universities.
When: Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center
Cost: Admission is free. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

Details: Sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the National College Fair in Jacksonville draws thousands of students and their parents each year. The event will be attended by representatives from more than 100 national and international colleges and universities. Information sessions presented in English include Bright Futures Scholarship Program, Financial Aid 101, College Planning 101, College Planning with FACTS.org, Writing the College Entrance Essay, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and High-School Redesign: Achieving the Dream. Spanish language sessions include College Planning 101, FACTS.org and Financial Aid and Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The local committee includes representation from the Bolles School, Duval County School Board, Nassau County Public Schools, Episcopal High School, Edward Waters College, Florida Community College, Jacksonville University, the University of North Florida and ITT Technical Institute.
