Creativity the focus of summer classes held at Florida Community College
Students who want to tap into their hidden talents will have the opportunity to do so in classes
offered this summer at Florida Community College.
Photography Basics will teach students about camera operations,
lighting and composition using fine art, nature, photojournalism, portrait and commercial photography techniques. Class
meets on Saturdays, May 20 – July 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at South Campus. The cost is $59. A manual SLR 35mm camera is
required.
Folk Guitar for Beginners introduces simple chords, strumming and
finger-picking techniques for folk, contemporary and country music. The class meets 7 to 9 p.m. on Mondays, May 15 –
June 26, at South Campus. Tuition is $49. Students must have an acoustic guitar.
Basic Improvisation for Actors uses fun exercises and interactive
techniques to help performers as well as public speakers create scenes, stories or presentations on the spot. The class
meets Wednesdays, May 24 – June 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Urban Resource Center. The cost is $49.
Digital Photo Fun will meet on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
June 3 - 17, at the Urban Resource Center. Students will learn to operate the digital camera, scan and upload photos,
alter pictures and format files for the web or printing. Cost is $49.
The FCCJ Urban Resource Center is located at 601 W. State Street. The South Campus is located at
