“Financial Planning Week” comes to Wolfson High School October 4
Wolfson High School students in the schools Academy of Finance program will get to show
off their financial prowess and learn the steps on the path to a career in financial services at a special
presentation in their classes on October 4.
In recognition of National Financial Planning Week, Oct. 2-8 (as officially proclaimed by
Governor Jeb Bush and Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton), the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Northeast
Florida, the University of North Floridas Coggin College of Business and Florida Community College are
presenting a student-oriented program. Representatives will explain the financial services programs offered by
each school and how to pursue a career in financial services. Additionally, FCCJ Institute for Financial Studies
Director Ron Allen will announce the establishment of a Fidelity Investments Scholarship for an FCCJ student
pursuing a financial services education along with an update on the FPA scholarship program. Students will also
participate in a game of “Financial Jeopardy!” to test their knowledge and share it with
classmates.
The program will be presented at Wolfson High School, starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending at
9:30 a.m. Wolfson High School is located at 7000 Powers Avenue.
