Florida Community College announces Faculty Award winners for 2006
Florida Community College has announced the names of 10 faculty members as recipients of annual awards
that recognize excellence in teaching. Winners of the Outstanding Faculty Award are Anne Banas, Professor of Art, Kent
Campus; Tessie Bond, Professor of Psychology, Kent Campus; John Haworth, Professor of Psychology, Downtown Campus; Judy
Holcomb, Professor of Mathematics, North Campus; Ken McCulough, Professor of Theatre, South Campus; and Victoria McGlone,
Librarian and Professor of Library Science at North Campus.
The Marcus Drewa Endowed Chair for Excellence in Instruction Supporting Health Care and Natural
Sciences is awarded to James Woods, Professor of Respiratory Therapy, North Campus.
The Dr. Clyde B. Lipscomb Endowed Chair for Excellence in Instruction Supporting Nursing Education is
awarded to Jeanette Abich, Professor of Nursing, North Campus.
The Mary Claire Hughes Endowed Chair for Excellence in Health Care and Natural Sciences is awarded to
Marjorie Fisher, Professor or Emergency Medical Services, North Campus.
Winner of the Innovative Technology Award is Walter Lara, Professor of Computer and Electronics
Technology, South Campus.
The 10 award winners will be officially recognized when the College holds its annual Convocation at
South Campus in August.
