On her journey of self-discovery she crosses paths with a suicidal alcoholic, a lonely tour-boat captain, a pair of blundering private detectives and a strange story involving a large jar of peanut butter.

“Wonder of the World” premiered in Washington D.C. in 2000 and was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award as Outstanding Play of the Year. It was produced Off-Broadway in 2001. Playwright Lindsay-Abaire’s works have received numerous awards and acclaim.

The FCCJ DramaWorks production of “Wonder of the World” features 12 student cast members. Sets and Lighting are designed by Director of Technical Theatre Johnny Pettegrew. This production is a participating entry in the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival.
