Florida Community College dedicates its Cecil Center North with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, three years after beginning classes in portable classrooms and less than one and a half years after breaking ground for the new buildings. Adjacent to Cecil Center South (home of the Aviation Center of Excellence) it is presently a satellite of the College’s Kent Campus.
Speaking will be Rep. Jennifer Carroll (R., Jacksonville), along with FCCJ Board of Trustees Chair N. Wyman Winbush II.
Ultimately the Cecil Center will be a 130-acre campus, developed in progressive phases, physically and academically. Phase I is a 44,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility. It provides technology-rich classrooms and labs, a library, two auditoriums, a full-service student center and appropriate support facilities. The student center offers a convenient “one-stop shopping” concept allowing students to apply for admissions, financial aid and enroll for classes all in one location.
