Sept. 4, from 9-10:30 a.m., North Campus,

Sept. 5, from 9-11 a.m., Kent Campus,

Sept. 6, from 10:30 a.m.-noon AND 4-6 p.m.,
South Campus, 11901 Beach Blvd., Bldg. M, Rm. 2161

Details: Last year Florida Community College’s Speech, Forensics and Debate Team, under the direction of Dean Charles Smires and Professor Kristopher Copeland, won 103 awards and won national Bronze in Individual Events. Students with an interest in competitive Speech, Forensics and Debate may qualify to have their tuition paid through a Talent Grant, as well as gain valuable experience in public address. Ten positions are available. Auditions are being held at all FCCJ campuses at dates and times listed above. Students selected for the team will have the opportunity to compete in informative, persuasive and impromptu speaking, as well as dramatic events that include poetry reading, duo acting and readers’ theatre presentations.
