FCCJ North Campus Gallery features “Talismans of the Far East”

Opening reception Oct. 15 for woodblock prints from the collection of ethnologist James Kemp

What: Gallery Opening and Exhibit “Talismans of the Far East” Woodblock prints of Chinese, Japanese and Korean talismans from the collection of James Kemp, ethnologist
When: Opening reception Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. Exhibit continues through Nov. 11
Cost: Free and open to the public
Where: Florida Community College North Campus
Art Gallery, Bldg. D, Rm. 301 4501 Capper Road

Details: In his travels to East Asia, James Kemp collected more than 1,000 talismans, religious folk art believed to keep away ghosts. More than 50 woodblock prints from his collection will be on display through Nov. 11, with an opening reception Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. For gallery hours or more information call 904.766.6786.
