Dr. Edythe Abdullah, Downtown Campus President, recognized Kourtney Armentrout, first place winner of the “Jobs for Florida’s Graduates” Poetry Slam state tournament

Four Florida Community College at Jacksonville students were named to the 2008 Phi Theta Kappa All-Florida Academic Team.

(From L to R) Dr. Steven Wallace, College President, Amy McDonald, student on the All-Florida Academic Team, and Susan Lewis, Student Success Advisor at Kent Campus, State DOE Executive Committee for the All-Florida Academic Team and Florida Association of Student Development Commissions Executive Board — Liaison to the Council of Student Affairs. In recognition of her achievements, Dr. Wallace presented to Amy a framed certificate and medallion.

Two of Florida Community College’s charter school Pathways Academy students took the top two awards and a third placed in the top 10 in the “Jobs for Florida’s Graduates” Poetry Slam state tournament in Tallahassee on April 2.
