Scholarships

Academic Achievement Scholarship: $3,000 ($1,500 per semester)

The Academic Achievement Scholarship is for entering college students who achieved a 3.5 grade point average in high school in an academic curriculum. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year based on academic performance at Florida Community College (you must maintain a 3.5 GPA).

Scholars Award: $3,000 ($1,500 per semester)

The Scholars Award is for students who have completed 12 hours of coursework at Florida Community College, have at least one year left at Florida Community College and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA.

If you are awarded one of these scholarships you will be required to:

  1. Maintain a GPA of 3.5
  2. Enroll in the Honors Academy: this means you must enroll in at least 6 credit hours of Honors classes (two courses each at least 3 credit hours) each semester — see Honors Courses. In addition, during the period of the scholarship, you should enroll in the IDH 2920 Honors Colloquia (1 credit hour) and IDH 2001 Honors Leadership Seminar 1 (2 credit hours) courses ( typically one per semester). Note: these two IDH courses do not count toward the 6 credit hours of Honors classes you need to take each semester.
  3. Enroll as a full time student with a minimum of 12 hours per semester (see below for part-time scholarships)

Part Time Scholars Award: $1,000 ($500 per semester) The Part Time Scholars Award is for students who have completed 36 college credit hours and maintained a 3.5 grade point average. Part time scholars are required to take one Honors class (minimum 3 credit hours) per semester. In addition, they must sign up for the Honors Colloquia IDH 2920, during the year of their scholarship award.

To apply for scholarships, complete a Common Scholarship Application Form and a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and return those to any Florida Community College financial aid office.
