Associate in Science and Associate in Applied
Science Degrees
The associate in science (A.S.) degree
is mainly for students who want to enter a professional or technical
field in about half the time it takes to earn a bachelors
degree. Graduates of associate in science degree programs in Florida
earn, on average, more money than bachelors degree graduates.
Some associate in science degrees are also transferable to state
universities. See your advisor for more details on university
transfer A.S. programs.
The associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree is similar to
the A.S. degree. However, A.A.S. general education requirements
are not as rigorous as those in the A.S. Therefore, while the
A.A.S. is generally easier to complete, it is not transferable
to a university.
The programs below are offered as both associate in science (A.S.)
and associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degrees, unless otherwise
noted.
