Workforce Certificate

Aircraft Powerplant Mechanics (5734)

Earning this certification can lead to a proud career and top pay with a commercial airline or airport, the federal government, aircraft assembly firm, agricultural aviation, air ambulance company or independent repair business. You will acquire preventative maintenance skills and the ability to replace parts, inspect aviation facilities, repair aircraft engines and perform pre-flight maintenance and repairs.

Application Procedure
You may be required to enroll in basic skills training. This will be determined by your scores on the state mandated Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). For further information regarding testing, call 904.997.2813.

*VPI 0200 Basic Mathematical Skills
*VPI 0300 Basic Language Skills
AMT 0700 Aviation General Maintenance Technician Helper (480/16)
AMT 0720 Aviation Powerplant Maintenance Technician I (480/16)
AMT 0721 Aviation Powerplant Maintenance Technician II (480/16)

Total Credit Hours: 1,440 contact hours/48 workforce credit

Notes

All students are required to take the TABE prior to enrolling in this program unless you currently possess an A.A., A.S. or bachelor’s degree.

Estimated tuition is $2,600. (for Florida residents, as of 7/04)
