Associate in Science/Associate in Applied Science

Criminal Justice Officer Administration (Academy Track)
Police Officer Track (2139)

This program is for students who seek both an associate in science degree and officer certification. This will prepare you for employment in the criminal justice field upon graduation. You will simultaneously complete requirements for your degree and the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission basic recruit training. Graduates will then be eligible to sit for the state certification exam for law enforcement.

This program is a selective admissions program. Contact the program manager on North Campus at 904.713.4900 concerning admission to the program.

Estimated tuition is $4,500 (for Florida residents, as of 7/05).

**Credits to be awarded to students who have successfully completed the certificate program and nine college credits as a degree-seeking student, including CCJ 2488 Ethics in Criminal Justice.

 

Notes
You have two options in this program: the associate in science (A.S.) degree, which can prepare you for employment or transfer to a state university, or the associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree, which is intended primarily for students who want immediate employment after graduation. If you choose the A.S. degree you must take MAC 1105, MGF 1106 or a higher level mathematics. The A.A.S. degree requires MAT 1033 or higher. Please see an advisor to determine the option that is best for you.
