
Facials Specialty (5711)
This is a selective admission
program. This program is for those students seeking certification in esthetics.
A facial is defined as the massaging or treating of the face or scalp with oils, creams,
lotions, or other preparations. These services must be performed in a licensed salon.
This specialty program includes classroom theory, laboratory practice,
and requires daily attendance. Classes are offered during the evening hours and are scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at North Campus.

After successfully completing the program, students
are qualified to take the cosmetology examination for the facials specialty, given by the Florida State
Board of Cosmetology. Licensing and certification for immediate employment
in the field are obtained by passing this examination.
This is a selective admission program that admits students in
the fall, spring and summer terms. Credit will be given for completion
of high school or the General Educational Development (GED) Test
as follows: .25 points per full year up to four years for work
experience, .5 points for high school diploma and .25 points for
completion of the GED. Official transcripts and GED scores, when
applicable, must also be provided at the time of application.
