Richard Grigsby, Culinary InstructorGlenda Miller, C.D.A. – Dental Assisting Instructor

She received her associate’s degree in Dental Assisting and bachelor’s in Allied Health Services from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind. Glenda is a recipient of FCCJ’s Outstanding Faculty Award for excellence in teaching. She says every new class makes her feel like she is teaching for the first time. Her passion is teaching. Once in a while she does get a little “medieval” with her students when they set up a medieval dental practice at the annual FCCJ Kent Campus Medieval/Renaissance Fair.

Jeffrey Smith, Instructional Program ManagerJeffrey R. Smith, D.M.D. – Instructional Program Manager

Dr. Smith is a graduate of West Chester State University and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine. After graduating from dental school, he moved to the Bronx where he initially practiced in a community health center. After two years there, his search began for a dental practice to associate with. Dr. Smith also began his first experience as an educator when he was hired as clinical faculty for Columbia University’s Dental School.

After ten years of clinical practice in New York City, Dr. Smith was ready for new challenges and a change of scenery. He moved to the Seattle area where he helped start a dental hygiene program in a local technical college. After ten years of constant rain (not really), he and his wife decided to leave the Northwest for Florida and sunshine.
