Clubs and Organizations

Get involved! Florida Community College is home to a variety of intercollegiate social, academic, service and occupational organizations.

Each campus has its own special blend of clubs with several reaching all campuses. Check the list, contact the appropriate advisor and find out how you can get involved!

Don’t see an organization you’re interested in? Start your own! Chartering an organization can be as simple as obtaining a list of at least seven interested students and a faculty/staff advisor. Student Life and Leadership Development offers a “starter kit” to help you get your club up and running.

Campus Student Volunteer Centers

Florida Community College students contribute a tremendous amount of time and effort to the northeast Florida community through the activities of the Campus Student Volunteer Centers. The student volunteer centers connect students with the types of organizations they would like to volunteer with and keep track of students’ volunteer hours. The campus student volunteer coordinator, a student position, can be contacted through each of the Student Life and Leadership Development offices.

Volunteer Centers: Downtown Campus, A-1066, 904.633.8372; Kent Campus, G-149, 904.381.3490; North Campus, E-227, 904.766.6788; and South Campus, U-223, 904.646.2279.

Student Government Association

Each campus has a Student Government Association (SGA) which is recognized as the official student organization representing students at the College. Each campus SGA is charged with the responsibility of participating in the College’s governing process through the student, faculty and administrative campus councils. Each campus SGA also participates in the SGA executive board, thus coordinating the college-wide needs of students. Each campus SGA is a member of the statewide Florida Community College Student Government Association. Contact any SGA office or Student Life and Leadership Development office for more information.

Student Leadership Program

Leadership Development — Florida Community College’s student leadership development program presents leadership activities and workshops on all campuses throughout the term. In addition, retreats and workshops which incorporate low ropes courses and other outdoor activities are presented at Florida Community College’s Nassau Center, a 40-acre wooded site in Yulee complete with everything needed for a weekend retreat. Timely topics and fun experiential learning exercises help you develop your leadership skills.

Performing Groups

Students with musical or dramatic talent might enjoy participating in one of the College’s performing groups. The FCCJ Chorale, Jubilee Singers, Jazz Ensemble and Symphonic Band perform both locally and throughout the Southeast. Students from any campus may participate in the many aspects of theatrical production as well. Full scale, college-wide productions allow actors and stagehands to participate in a community theater setting. Campus productions enable students to develop their talent through acting, directing, stagecraft and costuming. Contact the appropriate person below for your particular interest.
