HIM 1800 Professional Practice Experience I — 2 Credit Hours

Prerequisites: HIM 1110 and HIM 1224. Corequisite: HIM 1253. This course will provide students with a supervised experience in a Health Information Management department. Emphasis will be placed on the primary functions of record content, assembly and analysis, filing and retention of records, coding of outpatient records and use of office equipment. Five contact hours (clinical). A.S., A.A.S.
