COP 2250 Fundamental Concepts of Java Programming — 3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: COP 1000. This is the first Java course for non-programmers or students new to the concepts of object-oriented programming. This course is a lecture/lab course designed to be taught in a hands-on learning environment. Topics include introduction to Java fundamentals, introducing data types and operators, program control statements, introducing classes, objects and methods, more data type and operators. A closer look at methods and classes, inheritance, interfaces and packages, handling errors using exceptions, I/O: reading and writing, applets and events. Four contact hours: three lecture hours, one laboratory hour. A.A., A.S., A.A.S.
