EAP 1600 Speech/Listening Level VI — 3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: speech/listening placement test score at Level VI or successful completion of EAP 1500. Prerequisite/corequisite: students should be taking or have completed EAP 0492 or EAP 0420. This course stresses the practice of the principles and methods involved in oral/aural communications. Students will engage in purposeful and sometimes guided discussions on a variety of topics. In addition, students will be given the opportunities to practice listening and notetaking skills through video taped authentic lectures by Florida Community College at Jacksonville professors. Individual laboratory practice in pronunciation, stress, intonation and listening skills for academic purposes is an integral part of this course. Three contact hours. A.A.
